Viscosoft Topper Sizing and Pricing

ViscoSoft mattress toppers come in a complete range of sizes, including Twin XL and California King. Check out the heights and price points of each Viscosoft topper model below.

SizeDimensions
Twin39″ x 75″
Twin XL39″ x 80″
Full54″ x 75″

California King72″ x 84″

ViscoSoft’s mattress toppers come in thicknesses that range from two inches to four inches. It is easy to assume that a thicker topper is always better, but this is not necessarily the case. Many factors go into choosing the topper that fits your needs, including manufacturing material, sleeping style, body composition, and the underlying mattress. For example, a four-inch thick, soft foam topper may not be the best choice for a larger back sleeper on a soft bed, but it could be perfect for a side sleeper on a firmer mattress.

Affordability is always a factor when selecting a mattress topper, and ViscoSoft toppers come in a wide range of prices. The models at the higher price points have features such as washable covers, cooling fabrics, and more costly materials. For instance, both the Serene Latex Hybrid and the Serene Memory Foam Hybrid have down-alternative pillow top covers over their foam support layer, and the Select Active Cooling topper has copper-infused foam to help with temperature regulation.

Viscosoft Mattress Topper Performance

Since you cannot use the thickness of a mattress topper alone to determine if it is right for you, it is necessary to consider how each topper functions with regard to multiple factors. This can include issues like how well it supports you without sagging, how much it conforms to your body, if it can maintain a comfortable sleeping temperature, and more. Below we look at specific aspects of the performance of the ViscoSoft mattress toppers that can inform your shopping decision.

Response Gel Memory Foam Topper

Support: The Response Gel Memory Foam Topper is fairly supportive overall thanks to its use of viscoelastic foam, but there can be some sagging over time, particularly with the three-inch topper.

Conforming: This topper has a medium level of conforming. It does hug the body but is not the most conforming of the ViscoSoft toppers.

Temperature Neutrality: Like most memory foam toppers, the Response Gel Memory Foam Topper can trap heat, and without a cover to help wick away moisture, some sleepers may find that it sleeps too warm.

Motion Isolation: This topper has enough conforming to effectively absorb motion and limiting transfer of movement to other parts of the topper.

Sex: The Response Gel Memory Foam Topper is not very resilient and will not be springy enough for some couples.

Noise: With no cover to create rustling sounds, the Response Gel Memory Foam Topper is virtually silent.

Response Plush Gel Memory Foam Topper

Support: The Response Plush Gel Memory Foam Topper provides support because of the way that memory foam can give tailored cushioning to each part of the body. This helps relieve pressure points and keep your spine well aligned. As with other soft all-foam toppers, though, this topper will have notable sink that may be excessive for some sleepers..

Conforming: This topper cradles the body significantly and may have too much hug for some sleepers, especially those over 230 pounds.

Temperature Neutrality: Memory foam can build up heat over the night, and while the gel infused foam is made to resist this heat retention, this topper may still sleep too hot for certain sleepers. In addition, it does not have a cover to help with breathability or moisture-wicking.

Motion Isolation: Like other memory foam toppers, the Response Plush Gel Memory Foam is very good at motion isolation.

Sex: Because this topper is both soft and conforming, it is not bouncy and may pose a problem for sexual activity for many couples.

Noise: As with most foam toppers, the Response Plush Gel Memory Foam Topper is silent.

Select Active Cooling Copper Topper

Support: The Select Active Cooling Copper Topper has two distinct layers of memory foam that both work to cushion the body in a way that can support healthy spinal alignment.

Conforming: Customers will find a moderate amount of conforming hug from the Select Active Cooling Copper Topper.

Temperature Neutrality: With copper-infused foam, open-cell memory foam, and cooling fabric, this topper includes multiple features that help with heat retention, providing cooler sleep.

Motion Isolation: The Select Active Cooling Copper Topper is above average at minimizing motion transfer because of its two layers of conforming memory foams.

Sex: The copper infused in the foam of the Select Active Cooling Copper Topper makes it slightly more resilient than other memory foam toppers. However, this still may not be bouncy enough for people who prioritize having a topper that is conducive to sex.

Noise: This topper is virtually noiseless and is highly unlikely to lead to any noise-induced sleep disruptions.

Select High Density Memory Foam Topper

Support: The Select High Density Memory Foam Topper provides a balanced sleeping surface that is responsive enough to promote alignment of the body and firm enough to support most sleepers. With a higher-density foam, it is less likely than some other toppers to suffer from sagging over time.

Conforming: This topper has a moderate amount of conforming that best suits sleepers who don’t want to sink too deeply into the topper.

Temperature Neutrality: The breathable bamboo rayon cover and gel-infused foam help the Select High Density Memory Foam Topper sleep cooler than other all-foam toppers.

Motion Isolation: Like other memory foam toppers, the Select High Density Memory Foam Topper is very good at motion isolation.

Sex: The Select High Density Memory Foam Topper is not very resilient and may not have enough springiness to facilitate intimate activities for some couples.

Noise: Like other foam toppers, the Select High Density Memory Foam Topper makes no sound.

Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Topper

Support: The Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Topper has a softer feel thanks to its down alternative pillow top design. The memory foam can improve support thanks to its responsive properties, but the softer feel may have too much sag for some sleepers.

Conforming: This topper conforms closely to the body making it ideal for lightweight sleepers. It may be too contouring for sleepers over 230 pounds who will sink more deeply into the bed.

Temperature Neutrality: Like other memory foam toppers, the Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Topper may retain some heat, but the gel infused into the foam and the pillow top cover can help with this issue.

Motion Isolation: The Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Topper is generally good at motion isolation, though the pillow top may allow more motion transfer than a topper made exclusively of memory foam.

Sex: The softness of the this topper makes it harder to move on top of it, especially because neither the foam nor the fiber fill have much bounce. As a result, this topper is average to below-average for sex.

Noise: The Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Topper is very quiet except for the possibility of minor sounds from the down alternative fill in the cover.

Serene Latex Hybrid Topper

Support: The Serene Latex Hybrid Topper provides even support thanks to the responsiveness of the latex foam.

Conforming: Though the Serene Latex Hybrid Topper has a softer feel, the latex allows it to conform without too much sagging or sinking.

Temperature Neutrality: This topper is very good at maintaining a neutral temperature as the cotton cover and aerated latex provide increased airflow.

Motion Isolation: While the Serene Latex Hybrid Topper does reduce motion transfer, it has more bounce than memory foam, and as a result, is not as effective in isolating motion.

Sex: Thanks to the latex construction, the Serene Latex Hybrid Topper has notable bounce that is conducive to an active sex life.

Noise: Other than some potential sound from the pillow top cover, the Serene Latex Hybrid Topper is silent.

What Type of Sleeper is Good for a Viscosoft Mattress Topper?

Just like the mattresses underneath them, no single mattress topper is right for everyone. Two of the factors that influence how you experience a mattress topper are your body composition and sleep style. Both weight and sleeping position impact how much pressure is applied to the material of the topper and in what areas it is applied. If a topper is soft, it may become too compressed and not support the lumbar region for an average or heavyweight sleeper, which can cause back pain. A firmer topper may not conform to a side sleeper, which can lead to stress on the body’s pressure points.

Materials and Construction

What a mattress topper is made of will determine its feel and how it functions. Some may even have special features to enhance the experience of using the topper, such as ventilated foam for temperature regulation or a pillow-top cover for added comfort. Here we look inside each of the ViscoSoft mattress toppers to compare their “nuts and bolts.”

  • Response Gel Memory Foam Topper: This topper is made of gel-infused memory foam and comes in two-inch and three-inch thickness options. It does not come with a cover and has a Medium feel. As with most memory foam products, this topper can sleep hot, especially as there is no cover to help with temperature regulation.
  • Response Plus Gel Foam Mattress Topper: The Response Plus Gel Foam Mattress Topper is similar to the Response Gel Memory Foam Topper in that it is made with gel-infused memory foam and does not have a cover. However, it only comes in a two-inch thickness and the foam is less dense and has a Medium Soft feel. While some may prefer the softness, others may find it too plush and too conforming.
  • Select High Density Mattress Topper: This topper is made of gel-infused memory foam with a higher density than other ViscoSoft toppers. It has a Medium Firm feel. It is three inches thick and comes with a removable, washable bamboo rayon mesh cover for breathability that helps to mitigate memory foam’s tendency to sleep hot. The cover features elastic corner straps and a non-skid base to keep the topper from shifting during use.
  • Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Topper: The Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Topper is a four-inch-thick, dual-layer topper with a core of gel-infused memory foam for support and a down alternative pillow top cover for plushness. This combination gives the topper a Medium Soft feel. The quilted 300-thread count cotton sateen cover is washable and has elastic skirting to hold the topper in place on the mattress.
  • Serene Latex Hybrid Mattress Topper: Like the Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Topper, the three-inch-thick Serene Latex Hybrid Mattress Topper consists of two layers. The bottom layer is ventilated, gel-infused latex, and the top layer is a down alternative pillow top. The topper has a Medium Soft feel. The latex gives the topper more resilience and helps it sleep cooler than memory foam. The quilted cover is 300 thread count cotton in a sateen weave with elastic skirting to affix the topper to the mattress.
  • Select Active Cooling Copper Topper: The Select Active Cooling Copper Topper is made with one layer of copper-infused memory foam on top of a layer of ventilated memory foam. Both of these features help to transfer heat away from the body and increase airflow to allow for cooler sleep. The copper infusion also gives the foam a bit more resilience than standard memory foam. The cover is made from ViscoSoft’s Drift Active Cooling Fabric that wicks moisture away to assist with temperature regulation. The zip-close cover is washable and comes with elastic corner straps and a non-skid base to keep the topper in place.

How to Use Your Mattress Topper

In order to make them easier to send to consumers, ViscoSoft mattress toppers are shipped compressed in a box, similar to bed-in-a-box mattresses. Care must be taken when cutting open the package to avoid damaging the topper. Upon opening, the topper should be unrolled to allow it to expand to its original size and shape before use. As with most memory foam products, some odor is possible, but it will dissipate.

The Response Gel Memory Foam Topper and the Response Plus Gel Foam Mattress Topper do not have covers and should be placed on top of the mattress and secured in place with a fitted sheet.

The other four toppers come with covers that add steps to the setup process. The Select High Density Mattress Topper and the Select Active Cooling Copper Topper have covers that zip around the bottom edge once the foam is inside. Elastic straps at each corner hold the topper in place.

For the Serene Latex Hybrid Mattress Topper and the Serene Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Topper, the pillow-top cover should be placed over the foam and secured using the internal straps. This creates a single piece that is then fixed to the mattress with the elastic skirting, like a fitted sheet.

ViscoSoft mattress toppers cannot be cleaned in a washing machine. They should only be spot-cleaned with warm water and dish soap. All of the mattress topper covers can be machined washed in cold water using a gentle cycle and tumble dried on low. They should not be ironed or dry cleaned.
