After its 2015 launch, WinkBeds quickly made a name for itself as an online mattress seller specializing in handmade, luxury mattresses.
WinkBeds offers three mattresses. The WinkBed and the EcoCloud Hybrid use hybrid designs, while the MemoryLux is composed entirely of foam. WinkBeds also sells several sleep accessories, including a foundation, a bed frame, an adjustable base, a sheet set, and a mattress protector.
The WinkBeds EcoCloud Hybrid mattress is WinkBeds’ most natural option. This mattress is 13 inches tall and composed of 100% natural materials. The cover is composed of organic cotton. The top layer of the mattress uses OEKO-TEX100 certified Talalay latex. The support layer is composed of pocketed coils. The bed also features reinforced edges to prevent sagging. The mattress uses organic cotton, New Zealand wool, Talay latex, and other natural materials. No synthetic materials, sprays, or chemicals are used in the EcoCloud Hybrid’s construction.

The WinkBeds EcoCloud Hybrid mattress is composed entirely of natural materials, including organic cotton, New Zealand wool, Talay latex, and other natural materials. The cover is organic cotton, which sleeps cooler than many materials. The top layer of the mattress uses OEKO-TEX100 certified Talalay latex. The latex is sustainably harvested from rubber trees. It is hypoallergenic and naturally breathable. The latex layer offers contouring, support, and responsiveness. The base layer is composed of pocketed coils for extra support. The EcoCloud Hybrid also offers reinforced edges to prevent sagging.
WinkBeds mattresses are compressed, rolled, and shipped in a 20″ x 20″ x 44″ box. You are responsible for unpackaging and setting up the mattress. Ground shipping is free in the contiguous United States, and it usually takes about two weeks for your mattress to arrive. WinkBeds does not presently ship outside the contiguous United States.
White glove service is available for an additional $99. This service includes putting the mattress in the room of your choice, unboxing it, placing the mattress on the frame, and removing the packaging from the mattress. For an extra $60, you can also add old mattress removal to the white glove service option.
The WinkBeds EcoCloud Hybrid comes with a free 120-night sleep trial. If you sleep on the bed for at least 30 nights and decide it’s not right for you, you can return it for a full refund. WinkBeds will arrange to pick up the mattress. Note, however, that you are only eligible for one 120-night trial through the company.
WinkBeds offers a lifetime warranty on its mattresses. This warranty is valid for the original purchaser as long as the mattress was purchased from an authorized seller. The warranty protects against defects in materials and craftsmanship. If a defect is found, WinkBeds will replace your mattress with a mattress of the same model and size for free.
Winkbed EcoCloud Hybrid Mattress Performance
Latex provides bounce. Because of this, latex mattresses may transfer motion more than most foam mattresses. While the Talalay latex used in the EcoCloud Hybrid’s top layer is likely to transfer some motion, the individually-wrapped springs in the support layer are not intertwined. This means the innerspring layer may provide better motion isolation than some hybrid or innerspring mattresses.
The EcoCloud Hybrid features WinkBeds’ proprietary ExtraEdge Anti-Sag Support. This system uses firmer innersprings along the edges to prevent sagging and to provide a sturdy edge The reinforced edges may make the bed feel sturdier and more supportive when you sit or sleep close to the edge of the bed. While most hybrid and innerspring mattresses offer edge support, all-foam mattresses generally do not.
The WinkBeds EcoCloud Hybrid mattress contains a number of materials that are naturally breathable. This can help promote a cooler night’s sleep. Talalay latex and cotton are breathable, which can promote comfortable airflow. Similarly, wool neutralizes body heat and transfers it away.
The use of innersprings also provides greater airflow through the base than all-foam mattresses traditionally offer.
The EcoCloud Hybrid mattress shouldn’t have the odor usually associated with foam mattresses. While there may be a slight manufacturing smell due to the natural materials, these odors are not harmful and should dissipate quickly. If the smell bothers you, you may want to leave it in a well-ventilated space until it airs out.
The use of an innerspring layer makes the EcoCloud Hybrid more supportive than most all-foam beds. Additionally, the innersprings are zoned, providing additional support where it’s needed most to promote proper alignment. However, since the mattress only offers medium firmness, it may not provide sufficient support for sleepers over 230 pounds.
Latex naturally curves to adjust to your body shape and springs back when you move, making it a naturally conforming material. The innerspring layer is zoned to provide additional contouring, allowing some areas of the body (like the shoulders) to sink in while providing support for other parts of the body (like the lumbar region). Because of this, the EcoCloud Hybrid provides enough conforming to promote proper alignment and a comfortable night’s sleep. However, it does not offer the extreme conforming associated with memory foam mattresses.
The EcoCloud Hybrid mattress offers exceptional durability. Natural latex is generally more durable than memory foam. The innerspring system provides additional durability. Plus, WinkBeds is known for its durable mattresses and provides a lifetime warranty to back up that reputation. This means that if your EcoCloud Hybrid doesn’t hold up over time, the company may replace it for free.
Both innersprings and latex mattresses are known for providing bounce and resilience. The EcoCloud Hybrid uses a combination of innersprings and latex, making it an exceptionally bouncy, resilient bed. These traits can make the EcoCloud Hybrid particularly good for sexual activity.
Memory foam mattresses often receive praise for being virtually silent. The EcoCloud Hybrid’s composition may make it slightly noisier than memory foam options. However, the noise shouldn’t be excessive. Innersprings can be particularly prone to producing noise. Since the innersprings in the EcoCloud Hybrid are individually wrapped, however, they shouldn’t produce as much noise as many other innerspring mattresses.

What Type of Sleeper is Well-Suited to an EcoCloud Hybrid Mattress?
Side Sleepers: Side sleeping can create pressure points, which may lead to pain and poor sleep. Without sufficient support, the pelvis and back can also become torqued. The EcoCloud Hybrid mattress provides a combination of contouring and support that can encourage proper alignment. The latex layer is naturally responsive, while the innerspring layer is zoned to provide support to areas that need it, like your lumbar region. This zoning also allows areas like your shoulders to sink in.
Back Sleepers: Back sleepers need the right balance of support and contouring to promote spinal alignment. The EcoCloud Hybrid mattress’s zoned innerspring layer provides extra support in key regions to prevent excessive sinking, while allowing other parts of the body to sink in. This combination can promote proper alignment. Plus, the EcoCloud Hybrid mattress is designed for durability, which may prevent excessive sagging and offer more consistent support for back sleepers.
Stomach Sleepers: To prevent their abdomens from sinking in too deeply, most stomach sleepers prefer a somewhat firmer mattress. The EcoCloud Hybrid offers medium firmness and a zoned innerspring layer that offers extra support where you need it most. For sleepers under 130 pounds and between 130-230 pounds, this might be sufficiently firm to support the abdomen and promote better alignment. However, sleepers over 230 pounds may sink in too deeply, which could cause more aches and pains.
